Blown away!

The age and size of these temples is mind blowing. Thousands of years ago. Towering columns. Stories written into these walls with layers of meaning. Temples built on even older temples. Wisdom about life that goes beyond human history. Emotions of epochs broiling in the consciousness of the sandstone itself, pushed in by those that removed the stone to display the honoring of the ancients.
Holy cow, holy bird, holy lion!

Crocodile god?

The Komombo Temple is dedicated to 2 gods, Horus who was a great protector and Sobek, the Crocodile headed god.

They think the people worshiped Sobek because he was so fertile, he came from the life-giving Nile, and because the people didn't want to be eaten by earth-bound crocs. The people raised crocs in a well that was fed by the Nile. When the critters were big enough, they were embalmed.  Can you imagine the Archeologist breaking into a burial chamber, a handkerchief covering his mouth and nose, "WTF, Petrie, that's a blasted Alligator mummy!"

Worshipping something you're afraid of is something that continued in the Religions   tradition of my forebears.

Not knowing how to pray to the Crocodile God, I was reminded of the title of a book by Anne Lamott, one of my favorite authors: "Help, Thanks,
Wow: The Three Essential Prayers" so that's how I walked around these ruins that were once completely buried under mud and sand. Help, Thanks, wow.
Not, please don't eat me!

Now boarding

In Rome on 11/1
Waiting in Rome for our next flight. So international. Now boarding Tunis Now boarding Malta. Now boarding Tel Aviv. Now boarding Moscow

We had to get Euros to buy water and a Vatican Souvenir. Vatican souvenir!  We're here with priests and pilgrims from all over.

Now boarding Lisbon. Now boarding Nice.  Now boarding Dublin.

All one world and much of the big wide world beyond our little one is connected through this present place.

We built a column of light over the Mediterranean with the
intention that peace reign and all memory, record and cause of separation, grievance and enmity be dissolved for all time back in history and forward to all lands touched by this sea.

Now boarding Bucharest, Iago, Istanbul.

How do these toilets work?
So different yet we all need them. Every single one of us.

Kuwait City. Dubai. Now boarding Cairo. Finally!  Arivaderci.

Our transport awaits

This "bus" is taking us across the ocean. It's a miracle!  LC is singing "The wheels on the bus go round and round". Hmm. I don't think so.

A Sacred Journey to Egypt...

We are going to Egypt!

We've managed to reduce our baggage to an acceptable limit.  And I'm not just talking physical.  We get that this is an initiatory journey, one where letting go of the current life is part of opening to something bigger.  So, emptying, clearing, pruning down to next to nothing has been the order of the day.

Everyone is invited to connect with us at dawn on 11/11/15 as we receive initiation inside the great pyramid.  You may either join us at dawn in your local time zone or Egypt time, whichever you prefer.

We are planning to blog a bit about our trip with my co-blogger Kimberly Smith.  Since I like to take pictures, and she likes to write, I think it's a good combination.  Sign up to receive our blog updates and they will be automatically posted to Facebook and Google+ as well.

Bon Voyage, in so many ways!

A thing to ponder…

"Sometimes you meet someone who changes your life, but it doesn't mean your life has to change."

… A Time of Transition…

There is so much change happening around us. We are all within the occurrence of an energy shift, forcing transition. Sometimes the awakening and change with transitions is a welcome event, sometimes it is not.

Changes…

Today I received a gift in the mail… My mother's notebooks and scribblings. When I opened the box and saw what was in it, my emotions rose up into my throat.

I could only skim through the first of four bundles this time -- her words, her writing and pictures. Even that small touch moved me in my grief and a sense of deep loss, to cry. I cried because I never got to to meet this woman, this person who is not only like me by blood but like me in spirit as well. There is also a little umbrage that those who knew where I was didn't contact me and allow me the opportunity to see this reflection of my personality in life, to meet her, to know her, even a little.

I've never known anyone like me in this way. My mother was an artist, a musician, a healer and a psychic... all the things that I had been afraid of when I saw them in myself for the greater part of my life.

She and I have done many of the same things, followed many of the same thought processes and spiritual path directions… had many of the same feelings and limitations.

Now I just take a deep breath, and sigh as I step forward with both feet into this next level of growth in my life...

What people say that feels GOOD...

My friend "A" copied me on an email she sent to her friend "B" recommending me to "B" as a RoHun Therapist. I think "A" describes her own RoHun experience neatly:
"...check out her web site to get more about RoHun and trust it's very personal and profound multi-dimensional healing..."
Wow, I think that's a fabulous recommendation, indeed!
P.S. The website mentioned is www.RoHun-HT.com or www.PerspectivesHolistic.com

2011... WHERE has the time gone???

I have been out of the 'loop' for the last year or so... I just realized that I have not posted anything for that year...

Life has been challenging and amazing and wonderful and difficult all at the same time.  So much has happened and I have changed so much... the world around me has changed so much as well...

I contemplate the changes within myself, the ways in which I have grown closer to the vision I had long ago which showed me what I was to be... then I had no clue about how I was to get to this place, now I see it in the periphery of my 'vision'.  What has changed?

I made a shift within myself when I attended the 10-day Vipassana Meditation Course - a VERY profound experience for me.

another big shift... I am the Pastor of the First Friday Healing Sanctuary in Virginia Beach where Healer volunteers and I  bring healing and comfort on all levels to those who attend.  I think that is the biggest thing of all, even tho' a thousand little things let up to it.

So many things have happened this past year...  As I write of my journey, they will come out.
Namaste.

Zen and Knitting...

...or should I say, trying to knit with Zen in my lap. Zen is my cat and what she sees is a nice warm lap with a convenient 'blanket' for her to crawl into and under for a nap. Kind of hard to knit this way, tho'!

Carl Jung, I adore you!

I found this and I wanted to share it with you today!

"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart ...
Who looks outside, dreams.
Who looks inside, awakens.

Today's Epiphany...

With the help of a friend, I realize I often channel my inner Nimrod. You know, that voice that always mumbles in the back of your mind, using a verbal white glove on the bookshelf of your life. Well, when you channel it, that smeg comes out of your mouth and into your ears and the ears of anyone close enough to hear you... thus conceived are impressions and attitudes about who you are.

Oh, My Soul I Love You!

Oh, My Soul I Love You!
By Linda Carol Adrienne, PhD
(Published in the Delphi Healing Arts Journal - June 2009)

One day while I was meditating, I had a profound and life enhancing experience. I wanted to share part of this experience because it was so beautiful and it touched me so deeply. I thought that maybe it would touch you too. As you read my words, try to visualize them, let them resonate within you and call forth your own Desire and Devotion. I relate it to you in the present tense for this reason. Perhaps it will spark your creativity and light the fire of your inspiration.

As I journey in my meditation, I come upon a crystal podium. I walk over to this sparkling pedestal and see that there is a book upon it. I begin to read the book and realize that it is the story of my life from the perspective of an observer who is evaluating the learning processes of a prodigy. I am amazed at the beautiful things that are written there about me and what I am doing with my life. As I read, I begin to feel very good about my life in general and myself specifically. I take on a deeper certainty that I am "in the right place, at the right time, for the right reason". I feel as if I am fueled by what I have read, like a fire in the presence of pure oxygen. I just know that if I were to look at myself in a mirror, I would see that I am made completely of light and glowing as brightly as the sun.

I turn the pages of the book and I know, I KNOW... everything and nothing, the truth beyond words about who I AM. It feels like a new level of confidence, a certainty of the meaning of Spirit in my life. A rush of comforting warmth washes over me as if in confirmation. Eagerly I turn to the very last page of the book, or I try to, and I realize that part is not written yet. Even so, I smile because I have a knowing, an understanding about the Journey and the Final Destination. As this insight fills my heart, I hear someone call my name, and I walk toward where I think the call came from. After a bit, I come upon a fountain before a beautiful building, and I realize that this building is my Temple Within. When I see the Temple, I know it is my Higher Self calling to me.

I walk slowly to the Temple entrance, then enter and approach the altar where I sit in Lotus position. I breathe deeply to fan the flame of my Core Star and consciously use my Inner Light to illuminate the Temple. I just know this is what I am supposed to do here. As I follow this guidance, I hear/feel following words:

In Joyous and Utter Abandon,
I throw wide the doors of my Temple,
exposing the innermost regions of my Soul,
at last understanding the Why of The Journey.

As I breathe into life the flame of my Core Star,
illuminating the spaces within,
I hear the call of the Golden One,
and offer up my Self to the Oneness.

All that I am, all came from You.
All that I am, I give to You.
I spread my devotion before You,
freeing its golden radiance in Your Presence.

All that I am, all that I shall ever be,
I use in service to You,
as I stand before Your altar,
in this place which is the World,
where all Humanity dwells.

Dear One, I know Myself through You.
I know the purest Love
and the sweetest Peace,
as I realize that the Earth is Your Temple,
all life is Your Congregation,
and I am Your Emissary.

Amen.

At this point, I opened my eyes, for there was nothing more to see or hear and the meditation was indeed complete.

Will wonders never cease... I have sisters!

Yesterday, 9.22.2008, my 1/2 sister called me and what she told me blew my mind. I have another sister, maybe even a full sister and another adopted sister (actually cousin) that I did not even know existed. I am in shock. Unfortunately they live on the other side of the country or I would be in my car this minute!!!!! I also have 2 cousins on the east coast, but I haven't heard from them yet. All women, how about that?!?!?!? I go from having no real relatives, much less female ones, to a 1/2 sister and now more, all in a few short months.

The Universe is a Fabulous place and I have an amazing Life in it!

From what they have said, we have a lot in common and I am very much like our mother...

Namaste and AMEN Hallelujah!
